Wild Cam

Ferns crawl a mossy bed
and teem with spore and zygote.
Lady slipper is privy to the soil,
where the dark womb
hides a chartreuse bud.
All these private acts make the world.

And now Wild Cam
records eagle nestlings in their home,
and monitors the woods.
It’s the peek that extends dominion.

Your eyes on me
take in spider veins and stretch marks.
I’m only flesh and blood.
I must clothe my thoughts,
for they are fertile.
They are the micro fauna you fear.
